Santal Basmati is a floral woody musk for women and men from Affinessence, composed by Alexandra Carlin and released in 2015. Sandalwood and basmati rice are the core: the house used Mysore sandalwood and a rare basmati to give the wood a milky, savoury, almost cooked-grain softness. Iris adds a powdery, cool edge, while cashmeran and patchouli frame it with musky warmth. It is quiet, comforting and a little unusual. Performance is moderate, and it suits autumn and winter days.
