212 Men is a woody floral musk for men, created for Carolina Herrera in 1999 by Alberto Morillas, Rosendo Mateu and Ann Gottlieb. Grapefruit and green notes open it clean and almost metallic over bergamot, lavender and petitgrain, then ginger and sage warm the middle with gardenia and violet giving it an unexpected floral softness. The base is dry and slightly smoky: guaiac wood, incense and vetiver with musk and sandalwood. Urban and cool rather than sweet. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits spring and summer daytime.
