Decadence is an oriental floral for women, created for Marc Jacobs in 2015 by Ann Gottlieb and Annie Buzantian, and presented as the house's first grown-up scent after the younger Daisy and Lola. Italian plum opens it dark and winey, with saffron giving a leathery bite and iris a cold powder. The heart is full: Bulgarian rose and Sambac jasmine over orris root. Liquidambar makes the base sticky and balsamic against dry papyrus and vetiver. Heavy and deliberate. It lasts a long time and projects strongly, and it belongs to autumn and winter evenings.
