J'adoube

J'adoube is a fragrance for women and men from Mind Games, composed by Nathalie Benareau and released in 2022. The name comes from chess, where a player says j'adoube to adjust a piece without moving it. Benareau chose pomegranate as a juicy, precise fruit for that idea, and a black suede accord which she compared to the rook for its strength. Red currant and mandarin open it bright and slightly sour, damask rose fills the heart, and leather, patchouli, benzoin and amber give a deep, warm base. It lasts a long time with moderate projection, through autumn, winter and spring.
