Datura Noir is an oriental vanilla for women and men, composed by Christopher Sheldrake for Serge Lutens in 2001 and listed without a pyramid. Almond and coconut dominate it, milky and marzipan-sweet, with tuberose giving a narcotic white floral weight and heliotrope adding powder. Apricot and osmanthus keep a fruity edge, and tonka bean, vanilla and myrrh thicken the end. Very sweet, but the tuberose stops it reading as a pudding. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it can be worn in any season, day or night.
