Perceive is an oriental fragrance for women, composed by Christopher Sheldrake for Avon in 2000. Yellow freesia opens it with white pepper giving a faint prickle, and the heart is soft and fruity rather than spicy: pear and damask plum against carnation and ylang-ylang, the flowers kept gentle throughout. It settles on vanilla orchid, sandalwood, cedar and musk, sweet and creamy without much weight behind it. Easy rather than demanding. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits spring daylight.
