Youth-Dew is an oriental spicy fragrance for women, composed by Josephine Catapano for Estée Lauder in 1953. It opens with spices and aldehydes over peach, orange and, oddly, a cola note, then settles into clove and cinnamon laid across rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang. The base is enormous and does most of the work: incense, Peru and tolu balsams, patchouli, oakmoss, amber and vanilla, dense and resinous. Nothing about it is quiet. It lasts a long time and projects strongly, and it belongs to autumn and winter evenings.
