Ebony Wood

Ebony Wood is a woody spicy for women and men, made by Jo Malone for Zara in 2019. Pink pepper, grapefruit and cypress give it a sharp, resinous opening, and then it turns dark quickly: coffee and cloves in the heart, bitter and warm, with rose keeping a soft floral thread running through them. Vetiver, patchouli and an ebony note finish it dry and slightly smoky. More serious than the price suggests, and better in cold weather. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, day or night in autumn and winter.
