Bal d'Afrique is a floral fragrance for women and men, made for Byredo by Jérôme Epinette in 2009. It is light and dry rather than sweet: bergamot and African marigold at the top, a powdery middle of violet and cyclamen, and vetiver with Moroccan cedarwood underneath giving it an earthy, faintly dusty finish. Byredo says it was inspired by Paris and its infatuation with African culture, art, music and dance. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, sitting close to the skin without disappearing. Spring and summer, daytime.
