Crystal Noir is an oriental floral fragrance for women, made for Versace by Antoine Lie in 2004. Gardenia is the centre of it, creamy and full, reproduced by headspace analysis rather than taken as an extract, and set in coconut and orange blossom for a soft tropical sweetness. Pepper, ginger and cardamom sharpen the opening, and sandalwood, musk and amber darken the base. Rich and heady rather than fresh. It lasts a long time and projects strongly. Made for autumn and winter evenings.
