Oriental

Oriental is an oriental floral for women from Zara, and the record gives it no year and no perfumer. Freesia, bergamot and rose open it lightly before it does what the name says: vanilla and jasmine through the middle, caramel, patchouli and musk at the base. That makes it sweet and soft rather than spiced, the caramel doing most of the work and the patchouli keeping it from being cloying. Simple, and none the worse for it. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits winter and autumn, day or night.
