Encre Noire is a woody aromatic fragrance for men, made for Lalique by Nathalie Lorson in 2006. There is very little in it and that is the appeal: green cypress at the top, then vetiver, dark and wet and smelling of damp soil and cut roots, with cashmere wood and musk softening the edges. Austere, cold and not remotely sweet, and it stays near the skin. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately. Autumn and winter, day or night.
