Satine is an oriental woody fragrance for women, composed by Nathalie Lorson for Lalique in 2013. Heliotrope leads it, almondy and powdery, with gardenia and jasmine giving a creamy white floral lift, and the middle turns straightforwardly sweet: vanilla and tonka bean warmed by pink pepper. Sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver keep the base from collapsing into sugar, but only just. Soft, powdery and comforting rather than complicated. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits autumn and winter days.
