Sailing Day is a Maison Martin Margiela fragrance for women and men, composed by Violaine Collas in 2017 around a memory the house places on Paros in 2001, two bodies diving into open water. It smells marine and cold: sea notes and aldehydes at the top with coriander and red pepper giving them bite, juniper and iris behind, and seaweed in the base for the salt-and-weed edge most aquatics leave out. Ambergris, amberwood and cedar stop it evaporating. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits summer daytime.
