Althaïr

Althaïr is an oriental vanilla for men, made for Parfums de Marly in 2023 by Hamid Merati-Kashani and Ilias Ermenidis, working with Julien Sprecher, and offered as a homage to French haute parfumerie and to the woody-vanilla-amber family. Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar is the centre, opened with Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, bergamot and orange blossom, then thickened by praline, candied almond and tonka into something frankly dessert-like, with guaiac wood and ambroxan keeping it from collapsing into sugar. It lasts a long time and projects moderately. Autumn and winter evenings.
