Herod is a Woody Spicy fragrance for men, the seventh perfume from Parfums de Marly, made by Olivier Pescheux in 2012. Cinnamon and pepperwood open it hot and dry before tobacco leaf takes over, softened by osmanthus and darkened by incense and labdanum. Vanilla, cedar, vetiver and amber then pull the whole thing into a sweet, smoky drydown that reads more like pipe smoke than cigarette. It lasts a long time without ever shouting, and it is built for cold evenings in autumn and winter.
