Interlude Man is an oriental woody fragrance for men, composed by Pierre Negrin for Amouage in 2012 and launched alongside Interlude Woman. Oregano and pepper open it dry and herbal, an odd start that gives way almost immediately to the resin the house built it on: incense and opoponax thick with labdanum and amber, smoky and dense. Oud, leather and patchouli make the base darker still. It was made to suggest ordered chaos, and it smells that way. It lasts all day and fills a room, which is worth knowing before wearing it to an autumn or winter evening.
