Contradiction is a floral woody musk for women, made by Ann Gottlieb and Daniela Andrier for Calvin Klein in 1997. It opens as a large white bouquet, lily, peony, lily-of-the-valley and rose together, and then does the thing it was named for: eucalyptus cuts straight across the flowers, cold and medicinal, with lilac and blackberry beside it. Sandalwood, musk and tonka bean settle it. The eucalyptus is what makes it. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, suiting spring and autumn daytime.
