Godolphin is a leather fragrance for men, composed by Michèle Saramito for Parfums de Marly in 2010. Saffron and thyme open it dry and faintly medicinal over green and fruity notes, then rose and orris turn the middle rich and slightly powdery before the leather takes hold. The base is warm rather than raw: amber, vanilla, cedar and vetiver soften the hide, with musk underneath. It is named after the stallion from which generations of racing winners descend. It lasts a long time and projects strongly, and it suits autumn and winter, day or night.
