Ispahan is an oriental spicy fragrance for women, composed by Maurice Roucel for Yves Rocher in 1977. Aldehydes and bergamot give it a bright, slightly soapy opening, and then it becomes a big spiced flower: ylang-ylang, rose and jasmine dusted with clove and cinnamon. The base is where its weight sits, a thick balsamic blend of benzoin, tolu balsam, frankincense and vanilla over amber, sandalwood and patchouli. Little about it is restrained. It lasts a long time and projects strongly, which makes it an autumn and winter evening scent.
