Rose Absolue is a floral for women, composed by Christine Nagel for Yves Rocher in 2006, the second of the Secrets d'Essences line. Cinnamon is the only thing above the rose, and it sets the tone: this is a warm, spiced rose rather than a dewy one, drawn from Turkish, Bulgarian and Moroccan material. Tonka bean gives the base an almond softness, with patchouli and Virginia cedar keeping it dark underneath. Short list, clear idea. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits winter and autumn daytime.
