L'Instant de Guerlain is an oriental floral for women, composed by Maurice Roucel in 2003 and the first Guerlain perfume to use magnolia. Mandarin and red apple open it bright, and magnolia carries the heart alongside ylang-ylang and sambac jasmine, creamy and lemony at the same time. Honey is the thread that runs from top to bottom, thick and faintly animalic, and it settles into vanilla, benzoin and amber. Guerlain built it as two pyramids rather than one, citrus in one and white flowers in the other. It lasts a long time and projects strongly, and it suits autumn and winter, day or night.
