Hypnôse Homme is an oriental fougere for men, composed by Maurice Roucel for Lancôme in 2007 as the masculine counterpart to Hypnôse for women, with Clive Owen as its face. It opens cool and awake, mint and bergamot with mandarin, then cardamom gives it a spicy turn. The middle is lavender and almost nothing else, which is unusual, and the base is short too: amber, patchouli and musk, warm and soft. The contrast between the fresh top and the oriental finish is the whole idea. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits autumn and winter evenings.
