Apres l'Ondee is Guerlain's oriental floral for women, composed by Jacques Guerlain in 1906. The name means after the rain shower, and the scent recalls a spring garden after a downpour, with wet leaves and flowers warming in the sun. A soft anise and cassia opening leads into a melancholy, powdery heart of violet and orris root, touched with carnation, before heliotrope, iris and vanilla close it gently. It is delicate rather than loud, with moderate staying power and reach. Wear it on spring days when something quiet is wanted.
