Mitsouko Eau de Toilette is a chypre fruity fragrance for women, composed by Jacques Guerlain in 1919 and named for the heroine of the novel La bataille, the wife of a Japanese admiral waiting through the 1905 war between Russia and Japan to learn which of two men would return to her. Bergamot and citrus open it cool over rose and jasmine, and peach is the note that defines it, ripe against lilac and ylang-ylang. Oakmoss, vetiver, cinnamon and amber make the base dry and mossy. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits autumn, day or night.
