Barénia is a chypre for women, composed by Christine Nagel for Hermès in 2024. Miracle berry and bergamot open it tart and juicy, and the heart is a single flower, white ginger lily, spicy and heady in a way that sits somewhere between a lily and fresh root ginger. The base does the chypre work: patchouli and oak with akigalawood, dry and woody rather than mossy. One flower held in wood, and not much else. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits spring and autumn daylight.
