Eau des Merveilles is a woody fragrance for women from Hermès, released in 2004 and created by Nathalie Feisthauer and Ralf Schwieger. Its trick is to feel sparkling and feminine without leaning on flowers. An amber-woody accord runs from top to bottom, lifted at the start by orange, lemon and resinous elemi, then salted with pepper and pink pepper. Fir, cedar, vetiver and oakmoss give the drydown a cool, almost mineral forest feel. It sits close to moderate, lasts a reasonable while and suits spring through autumn in the daytime.
