Egoiste Platinum is a woody floral musk for men, composed by Jacques Polge for Chanel and launched in 1993. It opens bracingly aromatic, lavender and rosemary cut with the bitter green of petitgrain, then geranium and clary sage carry that herbal freshness into the heart while galbanum keeps it sappy and cool. Oakmoss, vetiver and sandalwood give the drydown a dry, slightly soapy polish. It lasts a long time at a civil volume, which makes it a daytime fragrance for spring through autumn.
