Dune is an oriental woody from Dior for women, released in 1991 and composed by Dominique Ropion, Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Nejla Barbir. Aldehydes, bergamot and peony give a bright, powdery opening, lily and ylang-ylang sit in the middle, and the base does the real work: amber, benzoin, oakmoss, sandalwood and vanilla, salty and warm at once. Its rounded bottle was designed by Veronique Monod, and the fragrance went on to win a Fifi award in 1993. Long-lasting and strong in projection, it suits summer and autumn days.
