Eau Sauvage is a citrus aromatic fragrance for men, composed by Edmond Roudnitska for Dior in 1966. Lemon and bergamot open it clean and bitter, with basil, rosemary and caraway giving a herbal sharpness that stops it being a simple cologne. The heart is where Roudnitska's hand shows: hedione makes jasmine luminous rather than heavy, and coriander, carnation and orris keep it dry. Oakmoss, vetiver, musk and amber finish it. Clear and easily recognised among fresh fragrances. It lasts a moderate while and projects moderately, and it suits spring and summer daytime.
