Opium Eau de Parfum 2009 is an oriental spicy fragrance for women, released by Yves Saint Laurent in that year as a reworking of Opium in a new bottle. No perfumer is credited. Mandarin and bergamot open it bright and clean, with lily-of-the-valley behind them, then myrrh and jasmine take the heart, resinous and dusky. The base is where the family character holds: opoponax, amber and patchouli with vanilla, balsamic and heavy. The flacon was designed by Fabien Baron with Stefano Pilati. It lasts a long time and projects strongly, and it suits autumn and winter evenings.
